Mrs. H. Brown Called By Death
Mrs. Minnie Miriam Brown, member of one of the city's oldest and best known families, and a lifelong resident of St. Thomas, died at her home, 49 Mitchell street, early Monday morning, after a long illness.
Mrs. Brown had not been in good health for the last few years, but became seriously ill some months ago while in Windsor, visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Rosser. She had been incapacitated since returning to her home from Windsor.
Born in St. Thomas, 67 years ago, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Watson, Mrs. Brown was a woman of pleasing character who took a most active interest in the work of her church, Knox Presbyterian. She was also interested in teh work of the Lady Trainmen during her more active years.
She was a member of the Ladies' Aid and of the Arketts Club of Knox Presbyterian Church.
Surviving Mrs. Brown are her husband, Harry Brown, 49 Mitchell street, retired P.M.R. conductor; two sons, Robert C. Brown, Brantford, Ont. and Jack D. Brown, 25 1/2 Balaclava street, St. Thomas; and daughter, Mrs. Evan (Betty) Rosser, Windsor; a borther, John K. Watson, 90 Hincks street, St. Thomas; a sister, Mrs. Edith Anderson, Chestnut street, St. Thomas, also four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Resting at the P.R. Williams and Son funeral home where the funerals service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev. H.S. Rodney, minister of Knox Presbyterian Church. Interment will be made in the St. Thomas Cemetery.
