Foster A. Baker
Foster A. Baker, 68, of 2201 S. Ironwood Dr., died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for a week. He had been ill a year. Mr. Baker was born on Feb. 25, 1900 in LaPaz, and had lived in South Bend, 45 years, coming here from Bremen. He retired from the Bendix Corp. in 1965 after working there 24 years, having last worked in the firm's missile division in Mishawaka. He married Gertrude Livengood on May 12, 1923, in South Bend. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. George De Vreese of Mishawaka; three brothers, James Baker of El Paso, Tex., Kenneth Baker of Norwalk, Calif., and Clifford Baker of Pleasure Ridge Park, Ky.; and two grandchildren. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka. Rev. Robert Taylor of the Milburn Blvd. Church of Christ, Mishawaka, will officiate at services at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
